Motorcyclist dies in hospital after crash with car in Berkshire

Police want to speak to a woman who stopped to help with first aid

Police have issued an appeal for a specific witness to contact them - after a motorcyclist died in hospital days after a crash in Berkshire.

The collision happened in Henley Road in Maidenhead, near to the junction with Pinkneys Drive, on Wednesday 22 September at around 8pm.

It involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Piaggio motorbike.

The motorcyclist, a man in his sixties, suffered serious injuries and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, where he later died.

A 45-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation.

Officers want to speak to a person who stopped at the scene to help with first aid.

Senior investigating officer Detective Sergeant Tony Jenkins of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Three Mile Cross, said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the death of a man.

"I am aware that there was a retired paramedic, who I believe stopped at the scene to help with first aid.

"I am making an appeal to this woman to contact Thames Valley Police either by reporting online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43210428216.
