Two men have been jailed foloowing a stabbing in Bracknell.

Billy-Ray Barclay, aged 35, of Victoria Avenue, Camberley, was jailed for eight years and six months and Nathan Mushidi, aged 24, of no fixed abode, was jailed for six years following a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday (29/5).

At the same hearing, Mushidi was found guilty of one count of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent but acquitted of one count of possession of a bladed article.

On 3 April last year, the victim, a man in his thirties, met Mushidi as there was a dispute over some money Mushidi owed. The victim arrived at Priestwood Square expecting to only see Mushidi; however, he was ambushed by both him and Barclay who set upon him and attacked him.

Following a four-day trial at the same court, Barclay was found guilty by unanimous jury verdict of one count each of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article on 17 October last year.

While the victim was on the ground, Barclay stabbed him with a knife in the back, causing a substantial 8cm wound very close to his spine. The victim required surgery but has since recovered.

Barclay and Mushidi were both arrested on 14 April. Mushidi was charged the following day and Barclay was charged on 13 May last year.
