Reading East MP Matt Rodda has a new role in the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property.

The role was announced by the Labour Party last week, and is based in Labour’s Science Innovation and Technology shadow cabinet team.

Matt Rodda said:

‘After 2.5 years as Labour's Shadow Minister for Pensions, I am thrilled to be asked by Keir Starmer to take on a new brief as Labour's Shadow Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property.

This new role will work with Labour's Science, Innovation and Technology team to think about how we use AI as a society and how we protect intellectual property.

The development of AI is fast paced and will have a huge impact on how we all live and work and I am really excited to get started’.
