Police say he was deliberately tripped over

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was deliberately tripped over.

At around 9.30pm on Saturday (24/8), a man approached a group of people, and was deliberately tripped by one of the group, on Broad Street.

The victim, who is in his sixties, sustained a broken hip and head trauma and required hospital treatment, where he remains.

Description

The offender is described as a woman with blonde hair, wearing a pale-coloured top and trousers, carrying a small black bag.

Witnesses

Investigating officer PC Erin Attride said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or has information that will assist us in our investigation to get in touch.
