Man sustains head injuries following Reading assault

It happened in Redruth Gardens.

The man was involved in a discussion with two people in Redruth Gardens at about 9.55pm on Thursday (17/6).

One of the two men, assaulted the victim by punching him, causing him to fall backwards and to become unconscious for a period of time.

The victim, a 41 year-old man sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital, but has since left.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the assault occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Jon Morley, based at Reading police station, said:

“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information about it.

“This was a serious assault which left the victim needing hospital treatment. If you saw this, or have any information which you think could be relevant to our investigation, please call us on 101, quoting reference number 43210267022.”
