Man sustains fractured eye socket in Reading assault

It happened in Callington Road at around 5.30pm on Friday evening (18/6)

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, was in a Mercedes panel van which was parked on the road when he became involved in an argument with others who were in the van with him.

A fight then happened on the road leaving the man with a fractured eye socket as a result of the assault.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but has since been discharged.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Jon Morley, based at Reading police station, said:

“This happened at a busy time of day and there are persons visible on CCTV who will have witnessed the offence taking place.
