Man suffers head injuries after assault in Reading
Thames Valley Police imposed a dispersal order following the incident yesterday afternoon (19 August)
A man in his 50s has been rushed to hospital with a head injury following an assault in Reading yesterday evening.
Thames Valley Police say it happened at around 5.30pm on Station Hill following what's being described by the force as a 'verbal disagreement' with a number of men,
He was then struck on the back of the head.
We're told his injuries are not thought to be life threatening, and nobody has yet been arrested.
When the police arrived, they imposed a dispersal order to help with their investigations - and to prevent further disorder.
Detective Inspector Matthew Rees, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we believe that this incident may have been a result of a disagreement following the Reading football match.
“The area around Station hill was very busy and a number of calls to emergency services were made following this assault.
“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault, or anyone who may have mobile phone or dash-cam footage to please get in touch.
