Man stabbed and robbed in Basingstoke

Police are appealing for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was stabbed in Basingstoke.

Police were called to a report that a man had been stabbed at around 1.10am on Monday 2 September on Kimberley Road in South Ham.

The man, who is in his 30s, also had a rucksack stolen during the incident.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries to his face, head and neck.

As part of Police enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and robbery.

He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
