Man stabbed and robbed in Basingstoke

Police appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a robbery in Basingstoke.

Between 8.56pm and 9.30pm on Thursday 12 January, a man was stabbed and robbed on Highpath Way.

The victim, a 37-year-old man from Basingstoke, was walking on Highpath Way when he was approached by two males who asked him for a lighter.

The two males then started searching through the victim's pockets and punched him in the head and abdomen. He was also stabbed in his abdomen.

The victim fell to the floor and the two males took £220 in cash from him before leaving the scene.

Following initial investigations we are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward or anyone who may recognise the two males based on the following descriptions.

Suspect 1

  • Black
  • Approximately 6ft2in tall
  • Stocky build
  • In his late teens or early 20s
  • Wearing a black Nike puffer jacket with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms and a black and white bandana over his face.

Suspect 2

  • Approximately 5ft10in tall
  • Larger build
  • In his late teens or early 20s
  • Wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a long black jacket and a black bandana over his face.
