Car driver seriously injured in crash with double decker bus in Reading
A road closure was in place all morning
A man has been taken to hospital following a crash between a car and a double decker bus in Reading.
The 23 year old car driver has suffered serious leg injuries, after it happened before 6am this morning, on Imperial Way between the Holiday Inn roundabout and the A33 Basingstoke Road.
The bus driver suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
No passengers on the bus were injured.
Investigating officer Sergeant Gary Doughty of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, based at Three Mile Cross, said: "This collision occurred just after dawn and resulted in a man suffering a serious, but not life-threatening injury to his leg.
"I am appealing to anybody who was driving in the area at the time and has dash-cam footage of the collision to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police by calling 101, quoting reference number 43210273689, or make a report online.
"I would also ask anybody else who witnessed the incident to please get in touch with police."
"No arrests have been made and the road, which was closed for investigation work, has since been re-opened."
