A man has been sentenced for sexually assaulting four women in Berkshire.

63-year-ol Derek Thurlbeck of The Pastures, High Wycombe, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court to two years and six months’ imprisonment.

Thurlbeck was found guilty by unanimous jury verdict of five counts of sexual assault following a trial at Reading Crown Court, which concluded on Thursday 8 July 2021.

The incidents took place between January 2017 and April 2019 in Slough and Bracknell where Thurlbeck sexually assaulted the four victims, women ranging from 23 years-old to 60-years old, in their homes.

Thurlbeck was arrested on 27 March 2019 and charged on 28 April 2020.

Staff investigator Surinder Marway, based at Slough police station, said:

“Derek Thurlbeck sexually assaulted vulnerable women, some over a period of two years, in their own homes.

“I believe the serious nature of this offence is reflected in the sentence, which will also help prevent him from further offending.

“I would also like to thank the victims for their help with the investigation, and hope that the sentence Thurlbeck received brings them some comfort.”
