Man sentenced after failing roadside drugs test at Maidenhead
Michael Plausin from OldWindsor was already disqualified from driving
A man has been sentenced for drug and driving offences in Maidenhead.
Michael Plausin, aged 30, of St Andrews Close, Old Windsor, pleaded guilty to one count each of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit, namely benzoylecgonine and driving whilst disqualified.
He was sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment suspended for 12 months at Slough Magistrates’ Court .
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for two years, must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay costs of £85.
On 11 February this year, Plausin was driving along the A404, Maidenhead, whilst he was disqualified from driving, when he was stopped by officers. A drug-wipe carried out displayed a positive for cocaine and he was arrested.
Plausin was charged via postal requisition on 14 June 2022.
Investigating officer, PC Luke Jenkins, said:
“Plausin was stopped and tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown product.
“He was shown, through evidential testing, to be over the limit and has now been disqualified for holding or obtaining a license for 24 months.
“This is time enough for him to consider his actions and the risk that he posed to other road users on that day.”
