Man held over Datchet death is bailed

Thames Valley Police has provided an update in connection with a murder investigation in Datchet.

A 56-year-old man from Datchet was arrested, initially on suspicion of drink-driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Subsequently, he was further arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

He has been released on conditional police bail until 10th January 2025.

Background

A report of a road traffic collision outside the Liquid Leisure Centre on the Horton Road was made to Thames Valley Police at 4.07pm on Saturday (19/10).

Police officers arrived at the scene and found a motorcycle had left the road and its two occupants, two boys aged 16 and both from Slough, were seriously injured.

One of the boys died in hospital on Sunday (20/10). His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.

Yesterday (22/10) part of Horton Road was closed for several hours as detectives returned to the scene to continue their investigation.

A local Neighbourhood Team is carrying out reassurance patrols in the area.
