A man from Reading has been jailed for four years for drug and weapon possession following a British Transport Police (BTP) County Lines Taskforce operation.

Antonio Shehi, 39, of Delft Close in Reading, pleaded guilty at Reading Crown Court to one charge of possession with intent to sell cocaine, two charges of possession of an offensive weapon, one charge of possession of a prohibited weapon, and one charge of money laundering.

Shehi was sentenced to 45 months imprisonment for possession with intent to supply cocaine, as well as an additional 5 months for the other charges at Reading Crown Court on 22 January.

Officers entered Shehi’s home and found several foil wraps of white powders and a large quantity of cash in the bedroom which was tested and found to be cocaine.

A drugs expert indicated the estimated street value of the cocaine found in Shehi’s home was worth approximately £35,600. Several weapons were also found and recovered from the address.

Shehi was not at home during the search, and enquiries were made to locate him. Upon hearing there was a warrant for his arrest, Shehi turned himself in on 12 September and he was arrested.

Detective Inspector Matt Davies from the BTP County Lines Task Force said:

“We are extremely pleased with the result in this case, and it is a credit to our hard-working team.

“The County Lines Taskforce works constantly to disrupt the drugs network that utilises the railways, and this sentence should send a powerful message to those involved.

“It is immensely satisfying to see Shehi jailed for his offences, and we will continue to take strong action against people like him who create widespread harm in communities across the country through the sale and distribution of drugs.”
