A man who shot another man in Slough has been jailed for 15 years and nine months – with an extended four years on licence, following a hearing at Reading Crown Court.
Caleb Fleming, aged 26, of Long Furlong Drive in Slough pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possession of cannabis, in a separate earlier hearing at Reading Crown Court.
A co-defendant, Michael Christian, aged 28, of Fairview Road, Taplow, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis at a separate hearing and was sentenced to three years and four months today.
At around 4pm on 21 November 2023, the victim, a man aged in his twenties, was in Tamarisk Way in Slough when Fleming shot him with a 9mm bullet.
The victim required surgery to remove the bullet, but has since made a recovery.
Fleming was arrested on 1 December 2023 and was charged with the offences the following day.
As a result of the investigation, Christian was subsequently arrested for the drug supply offence on 7 December and was charged the following day.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Stuart May, said:
“Caleb Fleming and Michael Christian were involved in the supply of cannabis and this resulted in them being in a confrontation with the victim.
“In the confrontation, Fleming was armed with a loaded firearm which he discharged towards the victim, this taking place in broad daylight in a public place demonstrating no regard for the risks to the victim or public.
“The victim was taken to hospital and required surgery to remove the bullet.
“Thankfully, incidents involving firearms are incredibly rare, but I know the impact such incidents have in our communities.
“Caleb Fleming is a highly dangerous individual and has now been convicted and sentenced for these offences and will serve a lengthy prison sentence, while Christian has also been held to account for his criminal activity.
“Slough is a safer place with Fleming off the streets, and I hope that this outcome will go some way to reassuring the community that we will always seek to put dangerous offenders behind bars where they belong.”
