A murdered who hid his victim's body in a flat for weeks, before leaving it by the River Thames, has been jailed.

Nyiah Williams, from Reading, was charged with murdering Duane Denny in September 2021, days after the body of Mr. Denny was discovered in London.

Police said Mr. Williams wrapped the remains in layers of plastic bin bags before storing it in a cupboard for several weeks.

Thames Valley Police detective inspector Stuart Blaik said: "“Nyiah Williams is a violent and controlling bully who preys on the vulnerable. He was responsible for the murder of Duane who had suffered severe blunt force injuries to his face and neck, which were inflicted in his flat.

“This has been a very difficult and complex investigation and I am grateful to everyone who has worked on the investigation over the last 12 months, along with those witnesses who provided important evidence during the trial.”

Mr. Williams will be sentenced at a later date.
