Shane Morris of Oxford Road, Reading has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for driving and drug offences in the town.

He was also disqualified from driving for 29 months and will be required to undergo an extended retest.

It's in relation to an incident in April this year when police attempted to stop his vehicle on Queens Road.

He failed to stop and drove dangerously causing damage to several vehicles.

When he then stopped his car, he got out and ran off.

Officers later found him in possession of individual bags of cannabis, drugs phones and cash, which officers seized and he was detained.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to one count each of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Investigating Officer Police Constable Zachary Rowe of the Stronghold team at Reading police station said:

“Drug dealing and dangerous driving threaten public safety. We take these offences seriously and will continue to work hard to bring offenders to justice.

“Further, as part of our Stronghold campaign, we are also committed to reducing serious and organised crime.
