Man injured by knife in Basingstoke assault
He was attacked by two men in the Winklebury area of the town
Police in Basingstoke say a man has been stabbed in the hand during an assault in the town.
It happened at Sycamore way in Winklebury in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police say a 31-year-old suffered a wound to his hand after having a knife pulled on him during an assault by two men.
Officers investigating an assault in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses.
The injury is not life threatening.
The victim was with two friends when two unknown men shouted at them before assaulting the victim.
One of the men the pulled out a knife and further assaulted the victim causing the injury to his hand.
The two suspects headed off toward Sycamore Way.
The men are described as:
• A white man, aged between 18 and 22-years-old, approximately 6ft with a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoody, with lighter tracksuit bottoms, with either a hat or a hood covering his head.
• A white man, aged between 18 and 22-years-old, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 11ins tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a jacket.
Officers have conducted a number of enquiries and are now turning to the public for any information that may help the investigation.
Police are also keen to hear from a possible witness who shouted over the fence of a nearby property.
