Man dies in Hungerford house fire

A man has died after a house fire on Friday morning.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a fire at a house on Priory Avenue in Hungerford, Berkshire, at 11:13am.

They found a fire on the first floor of a two storey semi-detached house.

A man was rescued from the building but died from his injuries.

Two crews from Newbury Fire Station attended the scene, along with the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station in Reading and crews from Dorset and Wiltshire and Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service.
