Man from Basingstoke to appear in court over fatal crash

A passenger in the car he was driving died in a two-car collision last year

A man will appear in court following a fatal collision in Droxford last year.

The 22-year-old, from Basingstoke, has been summoned to court in relation to three offences following the collision which happened on the A32, on February 4, 2021.

Officers were called to the collision, which involved a silver Golf and a grey BMW, which the 22-year-old was driving.

His passenger, Melissa Orsborn, 20, from Odiham, suffered serious injuries and died a short time later in hospital. The driver of the Golf, a 37-year-old woman, from Fareham, suffered serious injuries.

He will face the charges for causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing death while uninsured.

He is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on June 10.
