Man absconds from secure unit in Thatcham

Police are appealing for help in finding him

Police are appealing for help in tracing a man who absconded from a secure unit in Thatcham yesterday (24 October).

They say 62 year old Raymond Jones has been known to frequent Thacham and Newbury town centres.

However he may have travelled to Hampshire where he has connections in Wickham and Lindford as well Kingston, Gosport and Fareham.

He also has connections to Dorset.

Police describe him as white, around 5ft 4 ins tall, skinny and bald.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Sally Russell, said: “We are appealing for the public to please contact us immediately if they spot someone matching Raymond Jones’ description.

“We would advise members of the public not to approach him, however if they do see him we would ask them to call 999 immediately.”
