Man threatened with a knife during robbery in Reading

Police have issued a description of the suspect

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Reading.

It happened on Wednesday (22 June) between 4pm and 4.15pm, when he victim, a man in his thirties, was approached by another man in Bedford Road, near Battle Street.

The man threatened the victim with a knife and stole a black JBL speaker.

The victim was not injured.

The offender is described as black, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, and of a skinny build.

He had dark plaited hair and rough, stubble-like facial hair.

He was wearing a dark grey t-shirt with a logo on and dark bottoms.

He spoke with a slight Caribbean accent.

Designated investigator Zoe Purnell, based at Reading police station, said: "I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have information about what happened, to please come forward.

"Anyone with information can contact police by making a report online or calling 101, quoting reference number 43210274781.
