Police appeal over illegal car meets in Basingstoke

Investigators say they want take action against two drivers who they say were seen driving in an anti-social manner

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following reports of anti-social and dangerous driving which has been linked to an unauthorised car meet in Basingstoke.

They were called at 7.42pm on Sunday 18 February to a report of a car meet at the Asda car park in Brighton Hill. Around 60 cars had gathered.

It was reported that some cars were being used in an anti-social manner. Officers attended the scene and the cars dispersed.

Later that evening, they received reports of cars gathering at the Leisure Park and Chineham Shopping Centre. Police say they received reports of dangerous driving at both locations.

Officers launched an investigation and have gathered footage and evidence from both locations and are looking to take action against two drivers.
