Hungerford street fight leaves woman unconscious

Police say it happened early on New Years Day

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fight in Hungerford.

At around 1.50am on Wednesday 1 January, a fight broke out involving around 10 to 15 people on High Street.

On arriving at the scene, police found a woman who was unconscious, but she did not require hospital treatment.

Witnesses

Investigating officer PC Matthew Milne said:

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed this incident, as well as anybody with doorbell or dashcam footage, to please get in touch.

"Anyone with information can make a report online or call 101 quoting reference 43250000164.

“If you do not wish to speak to police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Police did not say why it has taken so long to make the incident public.

Arrests

A 39-year-old man and 30-year-old man, both from Hungerford have been arrested in relation to this incident. They have been bailed until 20 March.
