Man seriously injured in assault in Hungerford

He was attacked outside a pub in the High Street

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of grievous bodily harm that happened in Hungerford.

They say at around 12.30am on Monday 6 September, the victim, a man in his thirties, was assaulted outside The Borough Arms pub in High Street.

The victim sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

A 30-year-old man from Hungerford was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and has since been released on police bail.

Investigating officer, PC Jake Schulz, based at Newbury police station, said:

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or anyone who may have information about what happened to please come forward.

“I’d also ask anyone with CCTV or doorbell cameras to please review the footage in case it may have captured anything that could assist with this investigation.
