A man has been jailed following a campaign of stalking in Hook.
Police were contacted in May by a woman reporting that 22-year-old Jesse Brazil had been stalking her and making threats.
The court heard how, between 23 May and 7 June this year, he sent the victim multiple messages and photos of genitals and created social media accounts to try and interact with her online.
Brazil turned up at her home address on 27 May, messaging her to say he was outside.
On 25 May, Brazil called the police himself and told them he was outside the victim’s address, making it known that he was aware that he shouldn’t be there.
Brazil has also contacted the victim’s mum on 3 occasions with threats to burn down her house, stab her, and telling her to call the police as he was on her road. He also made threats toward the victim’s son.
Brazil, of Rectory Road in Hook, was subsequently charged with stalking, harassment, sending a photograph of genitals to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and breaching a restraining order.
Appearing at Winchester Crown Court for sentencing on 7 October, Brazil was jailed for 26 months and handed a 20 year restraining order.
DC Beth Hill said: “This was a terrifying campaign of stalking perpetrated by Brazil, who continuously threatened and harassed the victims despite already being subject to a restraining order.
“His behaviour was shocking. No-one should have to live in such fear and suffer such levels of harassment and abuse.
“We take allegations of stalking incredibly seriously, and encourage anyone who has been affected by this type of behaviour to please contact police on 101, where you can speak to a police officer in confidence. Dial 999 in the event of an emergency or if a crime is ongoing.”
