Overnight road closures will be in place starting tomorrow (9 August) in Hook, for resurfacing work at the M3 junction.

It is affecting the roundabout at junction 5, the B3349, the A287 and the motorway slip roads - through to the 22nd August, excluding the weekend nights of the 14th and 15th.

The closures will be from 9pm to 6am.

There will a signed diversion route in place during the closure each night.

This will advise motorists to use the motorway junctions at either Junction 4a (Minley) or Junction 6 (Basingstoke).

The diversion signage will encourage drivers to follow the A-road network (A30 – A327 – A323 – A325 – A287).

Traffic on the M3 will not be affected.

The County Council’s Executive Member for Highways Operations, Councillor Russell Oppenheimer, said: “Looking after Hampshire’s extensive road network is one of our top priorities.

"Our planned maintenance programme, Operation Resilience, is a long-term strategy designed to ensure Hampshire’s road network is resilient to the impacts of heavy traffic and adverse weather.

"The road closure is necessary to ensure the work can be carried out safely and we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause some people.”
