Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fail to stop road traffic collision in Reading.

At around 6.55am this morning (8/12) on Wokingham Road, a pedestrian, a man in his thirties, was crossing the road in the direction of Palmer Park when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.

Investigating Officer PC Gareth Miles, from the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said:

“This incident has left a pedestrian with injuries requiring treatment in hospital.

“We do not have any details for the car involved and would appeal to anybody that witnessed the incident to please get in touch.

“Also, if you were driving in the area around the time of the collision and have a dash-cam, or if you live nearby and have a CCTV camera or a video doorbell, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist us and get in touch if you have.

“To contact us, call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43230550121.

“Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website."
