Police to charge former Berkshire GP with indecent assault offences

Police say formal charge will be made after Christmas

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man will be charged with indecent assault offences that occurred in the 1970s and 1980s in Reading.

78-year-old Dr Robin Borthwick of Southend Road in Bradfield, will be charged with five counts of indecent assault on one victim, a boy.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said:

"Borthwick was arrested on 10 November 2021 and was served with a postal requisition on 30 November this year.

"He is due to be formally charged with the offences at Reading Magistrates’ Court on 28 December 2022."
