Henley Royal Regatta policing operation a "success"
Police say they arrested 11 people but the vast majority of people had a safe and enjoyable time
Thames Valley Police say their operation at Henley Royal Regatta this year was a "success".
Between Wednesday 11 August and Sunday 15 August, thousands of spectators attended this year’s Henley Royal Regatta and 11 people were arrested for offences including drug possession, criminal damage, sexual assault, public order and driving offences.
Chief Superintendent Sarah Grahame, tactical commander for the Royal Regatta said:
“We had another successful year policing Henley Royal Regatta. The work of officers, event organisers and partner agencies has ensured a safe and enjoyable event for the vast majority of those who took part and attended.
“The number of arrests represents a very small minority of those attendees.
“I would like to thank the community and our partners for their co-operation and support over the event.”
