Police investigate 'hate crime' in Basingstoke
A man in his 20's suffers homophobic abuse before being assaulted

A man in his 20s has suffered facial injuries after what Police say was a hate crime in Basingstoke.
Police say a man was subjected to homophobic abuse by a group of people near Basingstoke railway station at around 11 o'clock on Saturday night.
As the victim walked to a nearby bus stop its reported two members of the group assaulted him.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to report this to police.
As part of enquiries, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Basingstoke, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
They remain in custody at this time.
