A woman in her 60s has suffered leg injuries following a collision that occurred in Yateley.

The incident took place between 8.25am and 8.40am on Tuesday (7 October).

It was reported that a white Hyundai Bayon drove out of the car park in front of the One Stop store on Reading Road, and was subsequently involved in a collision with a pedestrian crossing the road with her dog.

The pedestrian, a 68-year-old woman, suffered leg fractures as a result.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 47-year-old man from Yateley, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention.

He was bailed until 7 January while enquiries continue.

Police know that there were several members of the public on scene almost immediately after the collision, including a lady who assisted with the pedestrian’s dog as she was taken to hospital.

They are keen to hear from these people to aid the investigation.
