Train services in Berkshire and parts of north Hampshire will be extremely limited today,

A strike by train drivers belonging to the ASLEF union means there'll be no long distance trains and only local services from Reading serving Oxford and Basingstoke.

In addition there'll be no trains between Reading and Paddington due to engineering work.

James Davis from GWR says passengers should also check before travelling over the next few days: "There will be no long distance trains. That's the trains that would run from London, through Reading and Oxford and towards Hereford and Worcester, for example. No trains between Bristol and London, no trains between Devon, Cornwall and London.

"There will be some trains between Reading and Oxford for example. But no trains beyond Oxford and no trains beyond Reading and into London Paddington."

"That's because we've chosen, with our colleagues from Network Rail, to carry out some vital engineering work while the strike action is taking place."

ASLEF say drivers haven't had a salary increase since 2019 and has called for talks - the Government says there's a pay offer on the table.
