Garden waste collection service suspended in parts of North Hampshire
It is being blamed on staff shortages
From Monday (16 August) garden waste collections in the Hart district are being suspended.
Hart District Council says the suspension is for a minimum of three weeks, due to lack of staff as employees self-isolate.
It says the shortage has been compounded by existing issues recruiting HGV drivers.
Subscriptions will be extended to compensate for missed collections during the suspension period.
On its website, the council has apologised, saying it hopes people "understand our decision at this challenging time."
It says new subscriptions are not currently being accepted because it cannot guarantee delivery of new bins or make up collections because of staffing shortages, and so that it can prioritise resources to existing customers when the service resumes.
It is asking existing subscribers to renew online by using the garden waste online form.
