'Gaia' arrives in Reading

The art installation uses NASA imagery to enable visitors to view the planet from a unique perspective

Reading is hosting a world-famous art installation Gaia over the coming week.

Created by renowned artist Luke Jerram, Gaia will grace the Victorian Concert Hall in Reading Town Hall.

The art work will be the centre piece of the town's climate festival with a number of events taking place with Gaia as backdrop.

The 7-metre replica of planet Earth, will be on display at Reading's Town Hall from 10-18 June 2023.

Up to 12,000 people are expected to see Gaia during its 9-day stay in the town.

Gaia has been brought to the town by Reading Borough Council, Reading Climate Change Partnership (RCCP), Reading Business Improvement District (part of REDA) and University of Reading.
