Flats devastated by fire in Andover

Fire crews were called out at 4pm on Sunday to Charlton Road

FIrefighters have been tackling a major blaze at a block of flats in Andover.

They were initially called to Charlton Road at 4pm on Sunday (1st June).

13 fire engines and other support vehicles were in attendance at the height of the blaze which affected all three floors of the building.

People living nearby were evactuated and others told to keep doors and windows shut because of the smoke.

Additional support was provided by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service.
