Five arrested in connection with fatal crash in Henley

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Henley-on-Thames.

At around 11.10pm on Tuesday 21 May an Audi A3 came to rest on its roof on Gravel Hill, Henley-on-Thames.

Sadly the driver, a man in his twenties, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Five arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Witnesses

Investigation Lead Richard Thorpe, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“We are investigating this collision in which a man has sadly died.

“We are carrying out an investigation into the collision, and asking any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident to please come forward.

Arrests

Two 17-year-old boys from Reading were arrested on 22 May on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They have since been released with no further action.

A 25-year-old man from Reading was arrested on 22 May on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A.

A 21-year-old was arrested on 22 May on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specific controlled drug above the specified limit and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A.

A 22-year-old man from Reading was arrested on 22 May on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, possession of a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a license and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A.

All three men have been released under investigation.
