Police investigate firearms incident in Reading
A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses following a firearms incident in Reading.
The incident occurred at around 9pm on Sunday (1/10) in Kinson Road.
Officers received a report of a loud bang and a man in his twenties sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
A 28-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, he remains in police custody.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Matthew Rees said:
“I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to please come forward as soon as possible to assist our investigation.
“Also, please could anyone with CCTV cameras in the area or anyone with a dash-cam who was driving in the area at the time of the incident check their recordings in case they have captured anything which could help us.
“I understand this may cause concern in the community but this is thought to be an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.
“Residents may see an increased police presence while we carry out a thorough investigation. If you have any questions or concerns then please speak to one of our officers.
“Following this incident, a section 60 order is in place until 12.30pm on Tuesday (3/10), to allow officers more powers to stop and search in the area affected shown below.
