Hampshire firefighters put out fire at well-known hotel

Fire spread to the chimney of the White Hart Hotel in Whitchurch

Around twenty firefighters have attended a fire at well known pub and hotel in Whitchurch in north Hampshire.

Crews from Whitchurch, Andover, Winchester, Overton, and Basingstoke spent more than two hours bringing a fire at the White Hart in London Road under control.

Hampshire fire and rescue service say a fire in the kitchen spread to ducting and the chimney.

In a statement HFRS said:

"Crews from Whitchurch, Andover, Winchester, Overton and Basingstoke were called to London Road, Whitchurch, at 11:30 today (18 Oct).

"A fire in the kitchen area of a pub/hotel had spread to ducting and the chimney. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one main jet, a hose reel jet and the aerial ladder platform to put the fire out."
