Acetylene cylinders had to be cooled
Firefighters had to spend several hours cooling acetylene cylinders after a fire at a commercial premises in Thatcham.
Units from Newbury, Thatcham and Windsor were called to the fire at 4pm on Tuesday at an address on the junction of Bath Road and Green Lane.
Because the cylinders had been in the fire a safety cordon was set up in case they exploded.
Local residents who found themselves unable to return home were offered accommodation at Thatcham town hall.
RBFRS said they spent eight hours at the scene and have now handed the incident over to Thames Valley Police.
