Firefighters from Basingstoke, Alton, Alresford, Hartley Wintney, Tadley and Bordon spent more than two hours fighting the fire which broke out at around 5.20am.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue service statement said:

'A caller dialled 999 after seeing smoke and flames coming from the clubhouse and crews wore breathing apparatus and used water jets to put out a fire in the kitchen. A ventilation fan was used to clear smoke. The cause of the fire will now be investigated.'
