Hit and run leaves man seriously injured in Reading town centre

The victim was on an e-scooter which was hit by a car

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision in Reading.

At around 9am today (24/7), a collision occurred at the junction of the A33 IDR and the Oracle roundabout.

The collision involved a black saloon style vehicle and an e-scooter.

The e-scooter rider, a man in his fifties, was seriously injured and sustained a large laceration to his head and serious concussion. He remains in hospital at this time.

The driver failed to stop at the scene of the collision and drove away from the scene.

Investigating officer, PC Benjamin Taylor, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said:

“We are investigating this collision in which a man has been seriously injured.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage to please come forward.

“If you have information we would ask you to contact Thames Valley Police online or via 101 quoting reference 43230328159.”
