Police arrested him after pulling his car over
A man has been jailed after he pleaded guilty to drug dealing in Reading.
Calvin Shepherd, aged 39, of Alexandra Road, Reading, was sentenced to two years’ in jail at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Friday (16/8).
He pleaded guilty to one count of being in possession of Class A drugs namely Cocaine, with intent to supply at an earlier hearing in April.
On 19 April 2024, Shepherd was pulled over in a black Vauxhall Corsa in Armadale Court, Reading. He was detained for a search under the Misuse of Drugs act. In the car, 20 street deals of Cocaine were located, along with a quantity of cash. Shepherd was arrested on the same day and an investigation was launched.
A number of mobile phones were seized which showed that Shepherd had been selling cocaine on this day of his arrest. He was charged the following day and pleaded guilty days later at a remand hearing on 22 April, this year.
The drugs and phones seized were destroyed and the cash has been forfeited.
