James Bond actor Daniel Craig has been awarded a CMG at Windsor Castle this morning for services to film and theatre.

He's been made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, which is the same honour that was bestowed on the character 007.

The Princess Royal awarded the honour to the actor who starred in the last five James Bond films, which included making an appearance alongside Queen Elizabeth II in a sketch during the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Daniel Craig's first appearance as James Bond was in the 2006 film Casino Royale, and his final Bond film appearance in No Time To Die, which was released in 2021.

Craig is among others receiving honours at Windsor Castle today, including film director, producer and screenwriter Paul Greengrass, who has directed many Hollywood Blockbusters, including Captain Phillips.

An MBE is being awarded to six-time world champion in triathlon Jonny Brownlee, as well as Tokyo 2020 two-time gold medal swimmer James Guy.

Others receiving honours today include TV personality and dancer Ashely Banjo, Dame Emily Lawson and tennis coach Louis Cayer.
