Cyclist seriously injured after crash in Newbury

The man in his 40s had to receive hospital treatment following the incident earlier this week

A cyclist has been treated for his injuries in hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash in Newbury earlier this week.

Thames Valley Police say they were called to the road traffic collision at around 19:30 on Thursday (October 19).

The incident involved the cyclist and a black Audi, which crashed on Oxford Street, near to the Clock Tower.

The cyclist, in his 40s, had to receive hospital treatment for his injuries, including multiple fractured ribs, and currently remains under the care of doctors.

Investigating officer PC Benjamin Taylor, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “I’m appealing to anybody who was driving in the area at around 7.30pm and who may have dash-cam to please check this and contact Thames Valley Police if it has captured the incident.

“I would also ask anybody who witnessed this collision to get in touch with us.
