Cyclist killed in collision near Henley

Police say bicycle hit a tree on the Marlow Road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died after hitting a tree near Henley.

The cyclist was heading in the direction of Marlow when the collision happened on Sunday afternoon at around twenty to three on the Marlow Road.

The victim was in his fifties and from Windlesham in Surrey.

The cyclist is believed to have been riding from Henley, in the direction of Marlow, no other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

The cyclist, a man in his fifties from Windlesham, Surrey, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Their next of kin have been informed and are been supported by specially trained officers

We would like to hear from any witnesses who saw the incident or the cyclist on the Marlow Road prior to it occurring.

We would also ask drivers in the area at this time to check their dash cams and contact us if they have any relevant footage.

Sergeant Darren Brown of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said:

“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.

“We are investigating the circumstances following this incident and we would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident to please come forward.

“Additionally we would ask drivers in the area at the time to please check their dash-cams and contact us if they have any relevant footage.
