Coronavirus: Major incident declared across Thames Valley

Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum say it'll help services to cope

A major incident has been announced in the Thames Valley because of coronavirus.

The Local Resilience Forum says it's in response to the growing pressure being experienced across partners here.

It'll allow them to meet the ongoing needs of communities in the area.

It comes after a similar announcement was made in Buckinghamshire.

The Forum says:

"The move enables us to further optimise our partnership working to meet the ongoing needs of our communities in response to the range of challenges being faced.

"The public message remains unchanged, if anyone needs urgent medical help, they should contact NHS 111 First and use A&E for emergencies.

"It is vital that people continue to follow government guidance on hands, face, space."
