Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a car and two pedestrians in West Berkshire.

At around 1.35pm on Thursday 23 December, a silver Volvo left The Street in Stratfield Mortimer after the driver suffered a suspected medical episode.

The vehicle entered the graveyard of St Mary’s Church and was involved in a collision with two pedestrians, a man in his seventies and a boy aged seven.

The driver, a woman in her forties, was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment, where she remains.

The man suffered cuts to his body and injured his arm, which required surgery, and the boy suffered minor injuries.

PC Adam Price, based at Loddon Valley police station, said:

“It is thought to be caused by a medical episode and is not being treated as malicious or deliberate at this time.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who saw a silver Volvo driving around Stratfield Mortimer around the time of the incident or the collision itself.

“Please review any dash-cam footage if you were in the local area in case it has captured anything that could help our investigation.

“If you have any information please report it by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210577328.”
