Multiple charges following petrol station incident in Maidenhead

A man has been remanded in custody

A man has been charged in connection with an incident of criminal damage in Maidenhead.

Gary Atterton, aged 39, of Boyn Valley Road, Maidenhead, was charged with one count each of:

attempted arson with intent to endanger life

bomb hoax

possession of a controlled drug of class A, namely cocaine

possession of a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis

possession of an offensive weapon in a public place

possession of a bladed article in a public place

threatening to damage property

The charges relate to an incident at a petrol station on Shoppenhangers Road on Sunday (4/6).

Atterton was remanded in custody and appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where he was further remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Reading Crown Court on 10 July.
