Large cannabis seizure on Berks-Hants border

Police pull over van travelling between Basingstoke and Newbury

A man has been charged in connection with a seizure of cannabis on the Hampshire-Berkshire border.

Police from the joint roads Policing Unit stopped a Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A339 between Basingstoke and Newbury and found 42.5kg of herbal cannabis.

Police later discovered £29,600 in cash inside the vehicle.

39-year-old Andrew King from Twickenham in south-west London has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

He is also charged with acquiring, using or having possession of criminal property.
